TOURNAMENT FORMAT
- This is a non-rated 5-round Swiss System tournament.
- Every player will play in all five rounds and be paired against players with similar scores.
- Tie-break methods will be used and could include a tie-break playoff round.
- US Chess Federation pairing rules will be used. Pairings are computer-assisted using WinTD.
TIME CONTROL
- Each round is G/25 (game in 25 minutes). Each player receives 25 minutes to make their moves. So each round could last up to 50 minutes.
- If there are not enough chess clocks, then players will have to play their game without a clock. At the end of 40 minutes, the Tournament Director will adjudicate the game as either a win for White or Black or as a draw. A player must be ahead by more than a minor piece (e.g. minor piece + 1 pawn, a rook, 4 pawns, etc.) for a win to be adjudicated (an exception may apply based on the position at the board).
